New Zealand Trip 2004-2005: Page 2 of 4

Two weeks in Christchurch

We spent the rest of our vacation in Christchurch with Simon's family. Here's all the Corstons together, at the park near the Victoria Arts Market.

More assorted family photos:

We had a lovely picnic at the Groynes park, which included a decadent amount of artery-clogging food (Dr. Atkins would be proud of us) and 2 beautiful, if short, nature walks.

(thank you, Ged, for not pulling the bridge out WHILE we were on it!)

Tyler helping Pat wash some potatoes for tea.

The wading pool at New Brighton. Notice that the older, wiser adults are wearing jackets. Tyler was a real trooper. It was not warm.

Tyler got more than he bargained for playing "chase" with this little girl.

What was that about adults being wiser? Same pool, different day, still cold as @&*?\*!!

The beach at Sumner.

Simon tried to chicken out while "swimming" at Corsair Bay. Rachel "informed" him that yes, he was going in.

More sleepy kids

And a really cool store I found in Christchurch while Christmas shopping. The photo doesn't do it justice. All four walls were stocked up to the ceiling, overflowing onto the floor, onto the counter, and OUT THE DOOR with different gourmet foods. The shopkeepers were clearly used to being photographed and hammed it up for me.
